I've never been very keen on the idea that you should take pens and sweets and stuff to developing countries when you visit. The image of "the everso generous westerner" lavishing sweets on kids seems a bit outdated. But playing a bit of footy with local kids...well that seems much more balanced.
And these wee blighters in ethiopia were way better than me.

Even though it was just a little unimportant game: Iran vs. Angola, it was still amazing. The goal keeper of Angola even gave his sweatshirt to one of my friends... 03 May 2010, 18:25Football

if you are a boy and you want to play footbball but dont have players, turn to the girls!we con be good as well! 10 January 2009, 04:54Speaking of footbal....
Weirdly, I've already done this. :] There was a school trip to Breast in France and since the class I was in was mainly boys there were mainly boys on the trip so there were about six footballs that were brought along, the boys being football crazy as they were. (The excuse was that may lose one and then die of not being able to play football. -_-') Anyway, since there was a beach near the place we were staying our teacher took us down there every evening to play football/build sandcastles/whatever you do on a beach at the age of 11. By the end of the week we had played about 4 or 5 teams all either being French or staying in France for a school trip themselves. It was wicked playing against different cultures - it felt like we were representing our country in the World Championship. ^_^ Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration but it did feel like that and ended up having fun as well as making a few new friends. :] Awesome stuff.
