do not charge you phone over night it will cause trouble 15 December 2009, 18:52Try going without a mobile phone for a month
Try unhooking from the habit of constantly checking phone mail and re-connect with the world around you instead.Bonus is peace of mind when you'd be anticipating (dreading) getting that bell at the worst time.
Cancel your phone contract for a while or switch to pay-per-call cards. 09 December 2009, 05:05

shame on those who charge their phones overnight 06 October 2009, 09:09PhoneChargingOvernight? ER NO!
I never ever charge my phone overnight. I rarely use it , so it's pretty much always charged. The charger is plugged in, but the main switch is usually off! I always turn my parents chargers off to especially if they have it plugged in unnecessarily, it annoys them, but hey, I do it anyways! x) 04 October 2009, 10:00Didn't charge
I've got my dad's phone because my battery was needing charging every night, its being repaired and his is great! 01 October 2009, 09:39Save energy

I've managed to stop charging my phone overnight completely and now I just stick it on the charger for about 20 minutes a day. It's better for me like this anyway because normally when I wake up with my phone being charged overnight it feels really hot in the morning so I don't get that problem any more. 19 September 2009, 22:12Yayyyy :D
I have finally got rid of the habit and sometimes have to even let my phone die in order to not go against this action :). It's good to know that I am not wasting any electricity while I am sleeping. 05 September 2009, 19:49Don't charge your phone overnight

I charge my phone in the office. I have a charger cable next to my monitor and use it whenever the phone need. Usually after an hour the phone is completely charged. 13 July 2009, 11:45Revelation
I actually found out my phone only needs to be charged for an hour at a time, and I've started charging it only when it really needs it - I switch it off at night now so that I don't have to charge it as often. 09 July 2009, 20:21--
I NEVER charge my phone overnight anymore - I either charge it as soon as I wake up or I take my charger to work or wherever I'm going. 06 July 2009, 13:54--

Teach My Mum not to charge her phone overnight!!!
My act 30 is now my desktop background, and it really brightens my day! Oh yeah, i told my mum about not charging her phone overnight, and one day my mum said to me, "I'm really sorry, Hannah, but I charged up my phone up overnight!" I told her she was very naughty, and she went off quietly.I love the book 'Teach your granny to text' I also am the proud owner of '50 things to do with a fiver', which i have read a number of times! Wearewhatwedo.org is a gr8 website, and i will recommend it to all of my mates! Thanx a lot! Hannah Morgan, Shropshire 04 January 2009, 14:22Mobile Madness
Hi wearewhatwedo.org! My mum used to charge her phone overnight, and i did too, until i read TEACH YOUR GRANNY TO TEXT, whivh i got from my mum's friend for Christmas. Now i know that it is bad for the environment to charge ur phone overnight, I won't do it! from horsestar22 PS: Teach your granny to text is a briliant book, and the illustrations are amazing!!! 27 December 2008, 03:07Make sure you get your facts right!
I don't think that the information that is given here is correct - modern Li-on batteries use din laptops and phones have charge management circuitry that will stop charging when the battery is full (probably 3 hours or so). Leaving them plugged in longer should have no effect - except for a standby current drain from the charger remaining on - but again most decent, modern chargers should not use energy in this state - you can check by feeling the charger unit when irt is plugged into the wall, switched on and not charging - if it is warm it is wasting current (but a small amount in the scheme of things), and you could think about replacing it with a better charger - if it is cool you have nothing to worry about. You can easily verify this information by looking at reputable, knowledgable sites on the internet. I am concerned that there is a lot of well-meaning misinformation about standby and chargers that detracts from the bigger issues of energy conservation - turn your central heating off and put on a sweater if you really want to save the planet! 27 October 2008, 19:20
